This past week, I got to meet all the students in my "cohort." There are 25 of us and we'll be in class together for 9 of the 18 courses. I understand that this is the largest cohort yet for the MAGL (Master of Arts in Global Leadership) program. We're cohort #13.
My current class is called "Developing Your Learning Plan." Its purpose is to develop a plan of action for my studies over the next few years, based on past experiences and future missional plans. [Click here for a definition of "missional."]
It looks like I'm in a great cohort! Lots of fun people. Lots of experience. Lots of diversity. Here's a statistical snapshot of who we all are:
- There are 17 men and 8 women.
- 15 live in the U.S.; 10 live in other countries.
- 22 are married and 3 are single; we have 1 couple.
- Everyone (but me) is working in full- or part-time ministry. I'm the only full-timer in "Corporate America." (Hmmm, that term doesn't work well when you're speaking about a global group.)
To manage the interaction between students, they break us up into smaller groups for weekly discussions. There are 5 in my group-three from the U.S., one from England and another from Switzerland.
We're off and running!
Yo Tamara - not true I work in corporate UK and only planted a church because I don't like sleep!! The Masters is just to take up any breathing time I may have. Cheers Dave

Hey Dave! I stand corrected. I believe one of the folks in my group has also shifted over to the "corporate" side of life too. I'm in good company!
